On this day back in 1991, a 30 tonne baby humpback whale became stuck on the beach at Peregian Beach. Over the following two days a massive community effort took place to rescue the huge mammal. It is one of the towns legendary tales of collaboration & ingenuity. inperegianbeach/whale-watching/ As part of Breaching Out the footage of the rescue is planned to be shown before the feature film at the Starry Nights Outdoor Movies in Peregian Beach Park.
