#ThankfulTuesday “He never stopped trying something. When everybody else was ready to give up, he didn’t,” said Marcia Beaird. Nine years after a routine liposuction procedure infected Beaird with a flesh-eating bacteria that consumed 80 percent of her body, she is finally able to return to work and lead as close to a normal lifestyle as possible. Beaird has undergone multiple reconstructive procedures including tissue expansion to rebuild the areas destroyed by the infection. Fighting together has allowed Dr. Paul Wigoda and Beaird to accomplish an impossible feat and give an extremely strong woman a new lease on life.
