Thanking God for his grace today. Our family almost suffered a great tragedy this afternoon. My cousin( Tina) and her husband and baby were turning in to the driveway at Maw Evas when a convertible Mustang came flying around the curve and into our yard! (almost hitting Tinas car) It left the ground, flew for about 42 feet and then hit the ground, went airborne again and skipped like a rock through the pasture 4 more times before he was finally able to bring it under control again.. I know all this because I was sitting on the steps of the front porch about 15 feet or so from where the car flew through the yard.. It also went between two huge trees that are fairly close together.. Did I mention that most of my family was standing around in that same front yard? I watched in amazement as the car flew by like something from the Dukes of Hazzard (and after regaining control he was going to leave!) and then remembered that Jennifer was standing out there in the yard (about 5 or 6 feet from where the car flew by!!) taking pictures. I looked back and saw that she (and everyone else) was OK.. My Daddy (who was inside when it happened) came out and made the guy stop.. He talked to him for a bit, then when I got my voice back I walked over to where he had stopped and first asked if he was ok.. he said yes maam.. but funny thing.. He was cool as a cucumber. He wasnt the least bit shakey or nervous.. I then told him how many people he could have just killed.. including himself.. and told him to slow WAY down. He said he would.. I told him I was glad he was ok.. Cousin Byron (whose wife was standing next to Jennifer holding their daughter when it all happened) asked him if he knew Jesus as his savior.. (he said he did) Then he left.. So hard to believe he drove away in that same vehicle that bounced across the yard and pasture! Come to find out hes already had a few automobile accidents.. a few minutes after he left his (twin) brother drove by and revved his motor.. Not very nice! Oh, another thing.. he never put on his brakes, not once.. We think he was going over 75 mph. AND he tried to blame Tinas hubby for pulling out in front of him when they were turning IN TO the driveway.
