Thanks Jason Beals for nominating me to list my top 10 books. I nominate Tom Vogel, Bob Maxwell, Alysha Smith Vogel, Matthew Round, Dennis Beatty, Angela Simpson Leuice, Tommy Easterbrook, Zach Cipperly, Loran Wagener, Drew Buell, and Christopher W Feigles to share with me their top ten favorite books. 1. The Bible: It’s God’s perfect Word. It has everything that I need for life and godliness. How could it not be my favorite? 2. The Darkness and the Glory by Greg Harris: Tremendous insights into the sufferings of Christ. It showed me that I cannot even come close to fathom what Christ went through to pay the price of my salvation. 3. Instrument in the Redeemer’s Hand by Paul Tripp: Thought I was going to read this book to learn how to counsel others and ended up learning how to examine the motives of my heart. Convicting. 4. The Stone and the Glory by Greg Harris: This book provides great insights into the stone prophecies concerning Christ and how they relate to the temple. Super cool! 5. A Shepherd’s look at Psalm 23 by Phillip W. Keller: My Grandfather gave me this book. This is one of the only books I’ve read multiple times. It hits close to home since I grew up around sheep. It’s a great reminder of my intimate relationship with the Good Shepherd. 6. The Exemplary Husband by Stuart Scott: Whenever I think about this book, it reminds me that a successful marriage begins with a right view of God and a right theology of marriage. 7. D. Edmond Hiebert’s commentary on I Peter: Great exegetical, expositional, and devotional insights into one of my favorite books in the Bible. 8. God’s Smuggler by Brother Andrew: Love the many testimonies in this book about a man of great faith who was willing to smuggle Bibles into countries where it was banned. 9. Charis by Preston Sprinkle: Maybe this makes my top favorites because I’m so excited about it right now, but I see this one staying in my top 10 for a long while. God’s grace in the Old Testament: amazing! 10. The Glorious Appearing by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins: Ok, I needed one cheesy one on here, BUT when I read this book when I was a teenager it made me very excited about the second coming of Christ. I can’t wait to meet my Savior face to face!
