Thanks for praying everyone! Today did not go as we had hoped, but - TopicsExpress

Thanks for praying everyone! Today did not go as we had hoped, but it may prove to give us some direction for the future. The driving therapist/tester is not comfortable with Daniels right foot to let him drive without modification. Daniel has very little (if any) control in his right ankle so he uses other muscles to compensate for his movement. As a result, he cant make a consistent, smooth switch from the brake to the accelerator or the other way around. She recommends he use a left foot accelerator to drive. He needs to go through a few training sessions to learn how to use it before they will have one installed on our vehicle. In the course of conversation, we began to talk about vocational rehab. Vocational rehab would hopefully give us some direction in terms of a future job for Daniel. It would also take him through the recommended driving training and provide the vehicle modification he needs. All at no cost to us. Lately, I have been wondering if vocational rehab was something we should pursue. Honestly, I didnt want to because it involves starting yet another paper trail, an interview, and more of my time (selfish, I know). Having talked with the therapist today, Daniel and I both feel we at least need to see if he is eligible for their services and if it would be beneficial for him. I did not take todays news well. I hate not knowing where this road is going to take us, but God says He works ALL things for good and HE will provide strength for each day. When I live in fear, I am believing the lie that God will fail me. Believe me, there has not been a single moment of this year when God has abandoned us. I may have felt like He had a few times, but God will remind me through a song, gift, comment, post, or verse that He has not left us alone.
