Heres my favorite scripture: ----- Isaiah 40:26-31 26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. 27 Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”? 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ------ I just love how Isaiah explained Gods power through the heavens and the stars coz Ive always been an hardcore astronomy geek for as long as I starte comprehending stuff! The brings out the starry host one by one and calls them each by name is so amazing! Do you know how many stars are in the known universe? If we are to count every star in just the milky way galaxy 1 star per second, it would take us 2500 years!! And mind you there are billions more galaxy out there having at least the same quantity of stars as ours. If thats not crazy, well the whole universe is expanding faster than, get this, the speed of light!! You know haw fast the speed of light is?! In one second, light would have traveled around the world 7 times! That is why we have never seen, and will not likely to ever see the end of the universe, the extent of Gods power. For a God who has that kind of vast knowledge, I think Isaiahs question in v27 was absolutely relevant because its in human propensity to doubt and question if God is really taking watch in my life like that My way is hidden from the Lord statement especially when trials arise but just lifting my eyes and looking to the heavens, the vastness and unfathomable knowledge displayed in the cosmos, how can I not be sure that he knows what I am going through and that he is in control? And from this scripture as well, the God who fashioned everything, who holds the entire universe in the span of his hand, who has power no one could ever comprehend, makes this promise in verses 29-30. All His majesty promised to be poured out in me when I stumble and I feel weak if I just hope in the Lord, if I just be still and be faithful and stand in the middle of this moment amidst the struggles and the persecution and the overwhelming obstacles of life. Thats a promise worth holding on to. What an AMAZING God I am worshiping! ------ I challenge the people tagged here to share their favorite scripture!
