Thanks so much to everyone for all the good thoughts coming my way - TopicsExpress

Thanks so much to everyone for all the good thoughts coming my way on my birthday. Apparently it had an effect. Many of you know that about three years ago I decided to start a cheesecake business. Does Cheesecake - Thats my MOM! Since its the best cheesecake on earth the plan really was to let it create itself, I just had to be the human that makes it and promotes it. So for three years thats what Ive been doing which has included learning how to get it perfect every time and also for three different sizes. And it has taken that long. All the while I have been looking for a suitable kitchen to bake in. That in itself has been a journey of epic proportion. My criteria are demanding. I dont want to travel more than five miles and I dont want conflict or stress. One after another, I have either ruled out or been ruled out. These include churches with certified kitchens that want too much money; the town hall kitchen which needed certification but I am now informed will cost thousands so forget it; the firehouse, which was going to happen (so I went ahead with insurance, tax ID, DBA and bank account) but then fell thru because the county stepped in and informed the chief that it is a county building and can only be used by non-profits; and assorted sole proprietors from whom I learned to run, run, run. On December 17th, my birthday, I met for two hours with my friend Jesus, owner of Genoa Station in lovely downtown Genoa, NV, one mile from my home. Since this is now his slowest time of the year he is more than happy to let me use his kitchen to launch my business. Since David Walleys Hot Springs Resort, where I work in banquets, is my first and only customer, and is two miles from my home, I will now be able to grow this one account and create a model for future accounts. In addition, since I also want this company to be philanthropic at its core, as has been my mothers entire life, I will promote Does Cheesecake to associations, schools, churches, etc. as a fundraising tool so that it can help raise money for many good causes. I think that should keep my plate pretty full. Oh yeah, later that same day, my birthday, at the David Walleys Resort and Hot Springs employee party, I was awarded the Food and Beverage Department Employee of the Year. Thanks again everybody for all the good thoughts coming my way.
