Thanks to Dress for Success in Hamilton for helping Kylie turn things around. Read her story below: Kylie became a mother at 16, and married a few years later. By that time she had three young children. She would go on to have two more within the marriage before separating and divorcing. She had held a few part time jobs along the way, but nothing long lasting. Eventually Kylie found herself in situation where she had lost all her confidence and hated her lot in life. Really she felt like she was only good for one thing: Motherhood. So she entered into another relationship and had two further children. Now was a full time stay at home mum to 7 children. A personal family issue meant that Kylie had no choice but to enter full time employment. The problem was that having been a stay at home mum for years she had next to no experience or skill. What she did have however was a positive attitude and determination. So through a family member’s recommendation she came to Dress for Success Hamilton. With the support of the Dress for Success team, she managed to secure an interview at, and was eventually employed by, Countdown Te Rapa in 2013, where she worked until April this year. She progressed so well that she was recently offered a position with more responsibility and more hours at another Countdown store in nearby Chartwell. Thanks to her own determination and the the support of Dress for Success she is now a happy, confident woman and most of all, a success in her own right.
