Thanks to Uniting Communities for allowing us to speak to their Smithfield team earlier today. It was an excellent discussion about how Income Management in Playford has transformed, the new categories that have been introduced, since it started in the area in 2012; the growing number of young people, many of whom work part-time and study part-time, who have been forced on Income Management simply because of their age and payment type, regardless of their financial and personal circumstances; and what is ahead: the prospect of further expansions of the policy in 2015. It still surprises and disappoints many to hear about the role of Nick Champion MP in bringing this failed, heavy-handed policy to Playford. [P]
