Thanks to all those who showed up yesterday morning for the photo shoot for this article, and those who contributed talking points to Nikki. Unfortunately there were only 4 subdivisions represented at the shoot, and all those travelling Terrell Mill will be impacted by the 25 mph speed zones and additional stop light(s),so we do need to get the word out. This article should help. And contact people you know, too, folks. As an additional note, Scott Sweeney showed up at an update session at Old Paper Mill this afternoon too. Major points -- 1. He also had not yet read the traffic study done on 2/20 for 2 schools on Terrell Mill. And understood that it was not available for normal taxpayers to read until after closing on the property (anticipated in April). 2. He disagreed that the Powers Ferry Development plan included a mandatory Brumby removal, but offered that they never like elementaries in commercial areas. 3. He disagreed that Brumby relocation to Terrell Mill was being used as the catalyst for an eventual move of ECMS to the same property, saying that no recommendations have yet been made. (Many came away feeling that this was the most likely outcome, however, as ECMS also needs a new home, and the property is there..) 4. To purchase and demo the property just south of Brumby (Powers Ferry Business Park, I think) would cost twice what the purchase price of the Hill property would be. 5. And there are no current plans to build another more centrally located elementary more south in the attendance zone. (Translation - more buses yet to the extreme north of the zone, where 4 other elementaries are, including Sope Creek.) For your information. Ron Mitchell
