Thanks to the editorial board for their kind words. Well see.... Another person who impressed us in two elections in which he has competed is District 10 candidate Robert Thomas. He is a Republican whose ideas garner bipartisan support — even in Austin’s sea of blue. Thomas, who lost a race for state representative in 2012 to Austin Democrat Donna Howard, would be an asset to a local political process that could benefit from an outsider perspective. His moderating approach on social matters, forged from a background of humble beginnings, business experience and participation in both major parties, could bring more balance to some local policies that have become financially unsustainable.
