Thanksgiving and Hanukkah 2013 This year is special – not - TopicsExpress

Thanksgiving and Hanukkah 2013 This year is special – not just because this is the year Grace and Power Church started – but this year Thanksgiving and start of Hanukkah fall on the same day. There is a divide in the people of God – Jews and Christians. While it is probably true that we will not bridge the gap that separates us soon – but there will come a day of unity. Ephesians 4:1-6 (NIV) Unity and Maturity in the Body of Christ 1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. There are so many things that divide the church – but there is one thing we all agree on – it’s not what God wants. So let’s take this rare convergence of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah and pray for Unity. I’ve read articles that say the next convergence will not occur until 2070 – other sources say it won’t occur again for 79,043 years. Either way – this is probably a good time to do it.Have a blessed Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. -Pastor Calvin Pastor, Calvin Allen Grace And Power Church
