That NZ hunternearby alerter device .. I would be surprised if such a device has mnot be tried with soldiers, - I can see a problem as it is not fail-safe it is never safe to assume there is not no other hunter behind the next bush, so although the device might save your life, it doesnt prevent you killing someone else when their battery or transmitter fails.
