That is not good enough, this is not what I wanted! How many times have we said or even heard that in our lifetimes? Then think about how Georges Bizet felt after he started his composition of Roma. See the French composer arrived in Rome in 1860 to begin his studies, and would spend three years not only in Rome but in areas throughout Italy. He would complete his first version of Roma in 1866, but "this is not what I wanted " and would revise the work in 1868. In fact Bizet would continued to revise Roma until his death in 1875. We will hear the Bordeaux Aquitaine Orchestra with a recording of Roma later this hour during Sleepers Awake.
