That moment when youre enjoying sitting at your cozy counter working on a craft project, and yes a nice glass of Merlot (still loving my Christmas wines), when for whatever reason you start replaying in your head going out to check on the horses for frozen water troughs.... You smile remembering the way Joe and Thunder stood while you rubbed their necks with Bill and Bob standing near, just waiting for you to walk off so they could assert their authority in the pecking order .. But knowing they are all getting along in the scheme of things you smile to yourself again...THEN it hits you...I remember opening the red gate but I dont remember closing it. Panic...jump up, trip over Freckles cause she is right at your feet, put house shoes on because theyre the closest to the door and faster than boots, skip the coat because..of course...its not by the door...run thru the shop out the the door like a tornado around the corner to the red gate only to see it closed tightly and 4 horses standing quietly until you just scared the crap out of them ....and knowing if they could talk they would be glad to remind you among other things, just how scatterbrained you really are.... AFTER ALL that I am pretty sure I definitely deserve the second glass of wine.......
