That thing where the morning looked coolly autumnal so you dressed accordingly and put on a jumper but as the day progressed it got warmer and you kept thinking of taking off the jumper but the temperature inside was kind of okay and you were anyway busy so you kept it on and then realised what a truly gorgeous afternoon it was on the way to the S Bahn but you are carrying bags so you make a conscious decision to take your jumper off at the S Bahn but you have forgotten there is a strike today so you have to suddenly switch to the U Bahn which will make you late and of course theres a train coming so you jump quickly on it and realise with immediate horror that its way more packed than usual (because of the strike) and feels like a sauna but you cant remove your jumper because youre packed in like the proverbial sardine do they even have that saying in germany and oh dear heavenly lord is this ever going to be a ride to hell and back but you grit your teeth and take greedy desperate gulps at the dirty air that wafts in when the doors open but the jumper feels like an intense layer of bear fur maybe even two layers and you think you might actually die soon or at least sink to the floor pathetically but you remain stoic until you are finally at your destination at which point you hurl your bags to the ground and rip off your jumper and stand there on the platform panting and half-basking in the sunlight thinking how the freak is this mid-october and enjoying the biggest sense of relief youve felt since three days ago when you managed to spontaneously side-step that massive dog shit on Alte-Schönhauser Strasse. #autumn
