“That which you gaze upon you become.” What is it we gaze upon? The problems. The problems at home. The problems in Washington. The problems in places like Ferguson. Yes, these stories are important. But what kind of people do we become if all we do is talk about the problems? Let’s gaze upon something good. Today, I’m choosing to focus on stories of hope. And I want you to join me. For the next 24 hours I challenge you to avoid anything, including the news, that makes you feel hopeless. Instead, I want you to find those people, find those things, find those events that fill you with hope. I don’t want you to go out and look at flowers or go to YouTube to look at kitty cat videos. You have to make a conscious effort to find real hope, even in the face of real despair. To kick things off, I’ve asked TheBlaze to seek out stories that feed the soul and give you a reason to believe in humanity. Youll be able to find those on radio, TV, and the website all day. But this cannot be something you read about here or watch on TV and that’s the end of it. Share your story. Leave it in the comments. Go out and tell your neighbor. Post it on your Facebook wall. I want to highlight your stories of hope today as well. I may be putting the call out there, but it’s not about me. I want to know: Where do you find hope? Who inspires you? When faced with absolute darkness, what is your light? Yes, today could suck, but it doesn’t have to. There is a brighter day ahead. It is going to get better.
