Thats So Corny! Learn How to Grind Corn at the Silver City Museum, on Saturday, November 22, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 2 pm. Learn how territorial New Mexicans ground their corn on Saturday, November 22, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Silver City Museum. The Silver City Museum is located at 312 W. Broadway. Try your hand at grinding corn the old-fashioned way. This is a fun family activity to see not only how corn was ground, but also wheat, and a variety of grains before store bought flours were common. Your work will be rewarded with a taste of a tamal. This event is in collaboration with the Tamal Fiesta to be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Silver City. Funding in part for these programs and exhibits is made possible thanks to the members and volunteers of the Silver City Museum Society.
