Thats it! Im starting my own boot company called: Real Boots, Dammit They will be at least 8, waterproof, 800 gram insulated, have an aggressive sole pattern, have decent arch support, come in brown, and camo (Atacs, or something generic but not hunting camo), feel good, lace to toe, have support and cost no more than $275. I love the boots I have now, especially the new 5.11 XPRT 2.0s. I wish they made it in an 8 for winter. Whatever boot I end up getting (this is evening three of looking on the internet), Im going to document in use next month in the PNW. If you see tears in my eyes theyre not Real Boots, Dammit. I like the Irish Setters, but the sole is not aggressive enough or theres too much natural type materials below the ankle. Same with Danner, Rocky, etc. Did you ever wonder why wetsuits have the core without covering, just slick seal belly exposed rubber? Its so it dries quick when youre out of the water and evaporation is not sucking the heat from your torso. The same goes with boots! Im ranting. Not quite done.......shopping that is.
