“That’s Not Fair!” How many times do we hear this through the years of our children as they grow up? “They have a bigger cookie, it’s not fair” You hug him and not me, that’s not fair”. If you think in our attempt over these last 30 years as individuals and a society to teach our kids the concept of equity and justice, right and wrong we have given the impression that life is our should be, fair. Well, as you and I know, life is defiantly not fair and further from the truth. LIFE IS NOT FAIR. Furthermore, would we really want it to be? If it were we would all be the same. I wonder how that would work. Everyone would have the same kind of car, the same house, the same education, the same income, the same personality, the same physique; hell we would have the same everything. It starts to remind me of a horror movie! Who on earth would want that? Thank God that life is not fair, life is what we make of it and each of us chose to live it differently by the minute decisions we make each day. My priorities are different from yours and every other person on earth. Why would any of us want this “fairness”. We would lose the excitement, the challenge, the variety, the very essence of life. All of this comes from the fact that life is not fair. Some of you are born with all of the advantages and others with nothing at all. Is this fair? NO! Does it make life worth living? Your damn straight it does! The one thing we have at the second of birth is our mind and our soul. How we use it makes all the difference. You have advantages that I do not as do I. Others have advantages the you don’t have. Just the way it is and has been since we became a human race. Each of you as well as I have our own burdens and our own joys from which we have an opportunity to learn from and to grow from. When we accept the fact that life is not fair then and only then can we begin to make it, GREAT!!! Goodnight and God bless each of you and all of those to whom you are connected to or will ever be.
