The 1 1/2 weeks in review: Weve had 4 motorcycles (MC) stolen in the past 2 weeks. They are the sports style bikes (not Harleys). The perps are cutting the wires, thus damaging the ignition to boost the bikes. Residential areas are targeted and its suggested that if you cant store your MC in a garage, put a camera where its stored or a motion light, and be sure to turn the ignition key to the lock setting so the bikes front forks lock with the wheel turned. Car breaks reported from 400-block of Lancaster St; Lawrence St; the RMV parking lot; Pond St; Most notably, we arrested a known offender July 5th in the area of Nutting Dr and found stolen property on his person that was returned to the rightful owner on Prospect St. Two vacant/foreclosed properties were broken into and copper was the main target in both of those cases. There was an attempted break at the K-Tech station downtown. The alarm sounded and the suspect fled after smashing through the glass and cutting themselves... We continued to make arrests for domestics (A&B) and shopliftings and placing persons into protective custody due to their level of intoxication. Stay safe in the unsettled weather pattern upon us.
