June 14, 2013 Question: What is the definition of TCC? Answer: The Technical Communities Council (TCC) is a standing ASQ committee per Section 7.1.6 of the Society by-laws. The TCC represents Society technical communities in matters of governance, administration, and operations, and interfaces with the ASQ executive council, board of directors, Society committees and boards, and ASQ staff. The basic responsibilities of the TCC are: The TCC will develop and assure achievement of the technical objectives of the Society through overall management, coordination, and evaluation of divisions, interest groups, and other technical communities. The TCC will make recommendations to the board of directors for the establishment or the revision of new technical communities or the revision of existing communities. The TCC chair will make recommendations to the Society chair and chair-elect regarding the appointment of chairs of technical communities as applicable. The TCC will encourage constructive communications and cooperation between the TCC and other groups within the Society.
