The 2014 John Hartford Memorial Festival Old Time Fiddling Contest- Do have the Speed of the Old Long Bow? John Hartford was a wonderful musician/songwriter. He was an outstanding fiddler. John Hartford spent his last years collecting, archiving and recording old time fiddle music particularly the music of Kentucky/West Virginia old time fiddler, Blind Ed Haley, (Speed of the Old Long Bow-Rounder Records-1998) John was known to enter a fiddling contest from time to time so to honor his life and legacy and dedication to old time fiddling, The John Hartford Memorial Festival will host it’s 2nd John Hartford Old Time Fiddling Contest.
