The 2nd test at the Lords between Eng and Ind is turning out to be a classic test match. The Star Sports ppl mi8 say tht India leading the test 5.5 to 3.5 sessions at the end of day 3, but the game is absolutely poised. The green pitch of the 1st day is steadily drying out and now has a brownish tinge to it. The 1st day conditions wud ve suited not only the English attack, but even any attack, esp the first session. And, for India to come thru tht and score close to 300 shows tht our batsmen are no more cats in foreign conditions. The efforts of Vijay, Pujara, and Kohli in the 1st inns helped India to combat the spicy conditions. Rahane followed it up and cashed in the efforts of the top order with a fluent 100. If India gona have a good 1st session tomoro, then I wud say it is India in the drivers seat. Here good implies scoring abt 70 runs with no more than a wkt loss. This wud put India round abt 220 runs ahead. Coming to England, Ballance played a nicely balanced inns of attack and defence. Like Rahane, he was also a bit unlucky to not capitalise on his 100 when he was strangled down the leg side. But, this opened up the match as India got them out by jus givin a 24 run lead. And, late in todays play.. a rush of 3 wkts meant the match was again in the balance. Finally, Mr. Plunkett getting some rewards when he decided tht he had nuf with his around the wkt banging efforts, and came back to the conventional over the wkt and good length area. Nice balls to get the thru the solid Pujara and Kohli for a duck. Also, an unbeaten 55 with the bat!!... Day 4 wud be quite intriguing!!..
