The 35th annual Pioneer Craft Fair will take place on September 14, 2014 from 11:00 to 4:00 on the Grundy County Museum Grounds in Morrison. The event is planned as a day of good family fun. All activities are free of charge. Food and vendor items will be available for purchase on the grounds. Pioneer Craft Fair is a non-commercial event emphasizing old-time crafts and activities. This year’s fair includes Quilting, Knitting, Crocheting, Spinning, Beekeeping, Timber Framing, Flint Knapping & Arrowheads, Horseshoe Games, Cedar Valley Civil War Roundtable along with Sons of Confederate Veterans, Sons of Union Veterans, and 7th Iowa Cavalry, Musical Entertainment, Kettle Corn, Antique Bottle Collecting, Fry Bread Stand, Rope Making, Black Hawk Button Club Display, Railroad Displays, Antique Farm Machinery Displays, Fireplace Stew in the Log Cabin, Butter Churning, Country Schoolhouse Exhibits, Buckskinner Camp, Horse-drawn Wagon Rides, Food Stands, and Farmer’s Market. The Museum Building and the Ag Hall/Heritage Center will be open for your enjoyment throughout the day. Schedule of Events 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM: Exhibits open in and around the Museum Building, as well as inside the Ag Hall/Heritage Center, Farmers Market, Heritage Center Gift Shop, Food Stand inside the Ag Hall/Heritage Center, Buckskinner Camp with Horse-drawn Wagon Rides at Black Hawk Creek Wildlife Area. 2:00 to 4:00 PM: Musical Entertainment by “The Other Band” 4:00 PM: Drawing for Charles Freitag’s print “Our First Restoration”. The drawing will be held just east of the Museum Building. Tickets will be on sale up until the time of the drawing - $1.00 per ticket, or 6 tickets/$5.00. Free Children’s Activities 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM: Hand pump duck races on the Basketball Court, Rocket Launching, Shelled Corn Sand Box Activity Noon to 2:00 PM: Pony Rides on Broadway St. just east of the Museum Building. Noon to 2:00 PM: Rock painting activity in front of Brick Museum 2:00 P.M.: Hay Stack Treasure Hunt on the Basketball Court 12:30 to 3:30 PM: Barn Stahl Petting Zoo near the Museum Building.
