PATIENCE Yoga asana is a healing modality for the body and mind, and takes years of practice to achieve long-lasting results.The more advanced we become in our practice, the more patient we have to be. The physical changes are most significant during the first several months of practice, then the body adapts to change at a slower rate. However, even though the changes take longer to notice, our bodys structural changes run deeper. For instance, a student who has been practicing for a few months with consistent effort will have more noticeable changes in practice at a fundamental level than a student who has been practicing for a few years, because in general, the fundamentals after a few years of practice have become less of a focus, and room for improvement is found more in refinement. How much we progress depends on how proactive we are.
