The 5th and final day of the grateful challenge. This has been a really amazing exercise in counting your blessings and realizing how much good has been and still is in your life. I recommend every one do this, and do it publicly. Really dig in and share with others what you are thankful for! OK, here we go! 1) I am thankful that even though I have been through 4 losses in just a 3 month span, I have been able to meet all kinds of really cool people this year! People like Danielle Helm Mischka, Christine East, Karen Jensen, Charley Walker (Texas Ranger). I also got to reconnect with people like CaseyandAndrea Beis, Reagan Boone, and Dustin Gielazauskas. Man these are all really good solid people that I am very thankful to have met and gotten back in touch with! 2) I am exceptionally grateful for people that I have known for well over a decade, yet have never met in person!!! This goes back to pre Myspace days!! People like Kelly Lynch who absolutely CRACKS ME UP!! So flippin quick with the wit, and I probably have belly laughed at our bantering more than I have with anyone who I see on a day to day basis! Then theres Junie Besteiro, who is a talented musician, quick with a phone call to see how I am doing, and truly is one of my best friends. Love you Junie, but you know this! Dena Howell Lee, one of my big sisters, who I absolutely adore and am so happy has found the husband of her dreams!!! I am grateful for my friend Shea Thomas Moxon, for setting me straight form time to time about laws, as well as having built me and some others amazing overdrive pedals which gets used at nearly every live show!! 3) I am thankful for every lesson I have been able to learn, especially in how to be kind to others, even when I do not want to be. I am grateful that it has taken utter heartbreak for me to appreciate kindness in others! I am thankful for having learned that a smile truly can make a difference in a strangers life. I am thankful to have full knowledge of not only to not do hurtful things, but WHY I shouldnt do them. Seems some people do not ever learn this lesson. I am thankful for my ex wife Brenda Foster for smartening me up about how her fellow Canadians view us Americans, it kept me from being an asshole when I lived there. I am grateful for the lessons I learned from my mom to pray it out with God when you need His guidance. I am thankful that somewhere along the way, I learned to not sell myself short, and to never settle with ANYTHING! So so so many lessons learned through trial and error, and worth every second of it! Last but not least, I have to publicly thank my good friend Elena L Hart for challenging me to do this. I think the world of ya Elena, and I appreciate the times you have given advice, prayed with me, talked about Christ and what God expects of us, even though I fail miserable daily. Anyway, you are a much appreciated friend, andit would be a shame for me to not acknowledge that.
