The 5th day of being thankful during this Thanksgiving - TopicsExpress

The 5th day of being thankful during this Thanksgiving Time. Today, I am so thankful for the family circle which is cherished however long it is in tact. Some exist for a short while and others last for years. One almost feels the family is encased and protected in an unseen glass sphere. Life just goes on and we somehow think it will continue always. Yesterday, that glass sphere was broken for my beloved Sisters family of six, when her husband of nearly 60 years broke that circle here and began the family transition from earth to heaven where the family will never again be broken. The fallout of that breaking sphere rains down on many and like throwing a pebble in a pond and watching the ripples, so is the shattering of the family circle. The ripple effect reaches far and wide. The family circle that began with two, grew with every birth and then marriages beginning new circles. As my heart grieves this earthly loss, but rejoices at heavens gain, there is a song overtaking my thoughts, Will the Circle be Unbroken?. That imparts to me that as life transitions from earth to heaven, will that transition be complete with all precious members? Gods Word assures us that if we have put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, no one will be lost and the circle will be complete. I am so thankful for the comfort this gives me in knowing the immediate family is anchored to heavens shores. Then my thoughts turn to others whose family circles have been ripped apart by war and other ways, even by divorce. How painful when our little glass orb shatters! My prayers go up today for every family this Thanksgiving who may be grieving a loss. I am thankful that they and the world have had the precious life with us that now leaves bittersweet memories and longings. These wounds in our hearts scar over with time, but are never forgotten. I am thankful that time takes away the pain and we come to realize that precious life of the one taken from us now lives, breathes and walks with us everyday that we live. Death, the last enemy we fight can give us a nasty fight, but can free us for all eternity of pain, suffering, heartbreak and can break the bonds that bind us to a decaying society and stressful earthly existence. Thank you God that in heaven we will have the life we dream of having here on earth. In all things give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you.
