The AHC has partnered with the Save the Markham Home campaign. For the next phase of their fund raising, all donations are tax deductible! Progress update: Demolition, which was scheduled for this week, has been delayed. The developer has lowered the selling price by $50,000 and there is now a contract in place. The buyer, John McCulloch, is not expecting to make a profit on this project but he is committed to be an integral part of saving the home for the community. John has committed $600,000 to purchase the home, a year of unpaid work, plus the funds to do all of the remodeling necessary. Campaign organizers and supporters need to raise a total of $50,000 to fill the gap in the purchase price. They have reached their first milestone, successfully raising over $10,000 which has been used as earnest money to secure the contract and delay demolition for 30 days. An additional $37,000.00 is needed. If you wish to give, your donations will go through the AHC and will be tax deductible.
