The Abbott governments climate change policies will cost taxpayers $40 billion by 2020, with the cost blowing out even more if they mess with the renewable energy target as well. And lets all just remember that our current clean energy laws (described as template legislation for how to tackle the climate crisis) makes about $18 billion a year by charging our biggest polluters for polluting. Seems like less a case of budget emergency and more one of budget stupidity, Mr Abbott.
