The African Economic History Network is proud to announce that we have publsihed a text book on African economic history (edited by Ewout Frankema and Ellen Hillbom). It is free for everyone to download. aehnetwork.org/textbook/ The primary aim with the project is to create an open source for African students. The text book is currently used in a pilot study at a university in Uganda and will soon be tried in Malawi. It is a living document, which means that more chapters will be added in the future. Right now, we are waiting for four more chapters to be finished soon.
