The Alexandria iBase Project When they burned the ancient library at Alexandria generations of ancient materials were lost. Do we want this to happen again? The Alexandria iBase Project is an International iBase for Astrological References for Educational Purposes. Many of our peers are retiring, moving away and passing away. What happens to their valuable Astrological Book and Article collections? Libraries don’t take them – they have no funding and they have no room. Many families don’t know what to do with their parent’s collections and so they are either donated, sold or tossed. A joint international effort is forming the seeds of this project, which will be supported by subscription/donations to the materials either out of copyright or released by YOU, the writers of current astrological data. About the Alexandra iBase Project: This non-profit library project focuses on astrological materials and other esoteric subjects. There are many hard to find books and loose materials, out-of-copyright books, periodicals and pamphlets in these areas that get thrown away after their owners die because no one wants them. An international group of astrologers decided that something needed to be done to save these resources for future generations. The intent is to develop an online library database similar to Worldcat, that includes scanned and other digital materials available for download, as well as links to other library collections. To Apply: Send PDF formatted letter of application, resume or vita, and names of three references to the attention of Georgia [email protected]. Applications should be received by December 15. Final decision will be made January 2015. The Alexandria iBase Project is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer of all protected classes including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
