The Amazon sale on the Audible version of Age of Context is - TopicsExpress

The Amazon sale on the Audible version of Age of Context is kicking butt. We ave just gone over the 25,000 mark for Age of Context. Audible versions account for almost 20 percent of total sales. Robert Scoble and I had no I idea that Audible had become such a big deal. Thanks to Jeffrey Kafer, the voice of #AofC for talking us into giving it a try. One of the reasons for this outstanding week for our book is that the Kindle version remains on sale at $4.99. You can get Kindle and Audible for $7. Amazon has a feature called Whispersynch that allows you to read your Kindle at home, then when you hop in your car, the Audible version picks up precisely where you left off. That to me is an example of contextual support. It knows who you are and makes a seamless transition from one Amazon platform to the other. Extremely cool and boosting sales for us on two platforms. The paper books are lagging far behind in sales. This is partly because we have no control n the pricing them and Amazon has seen fit to keep the price high, even as the book starts aging on the sell cycle. But also, we believe our readers are more prone to use the newer technologies to enjoy book content. In any case, it is very nice to hit this major milestone. Not many self-published books do this well, fewer in the business category and fewer still in tech-business. We are very proud. May the hits continue for Porter Gale and I in Resurrecting Trust. We get to use everything I have learned from the success of Age of Context.
