The Animal Rescue Site JAW DROPPING RESCUE OF WOLF FAMILIES! Help here: bit.ly/FeedWolvesDogs We’re thrilled to share a rescue like you’ve never seen before! The wolves shown here were just rescued. Though they are hard to see because they are so small, if you look closely you’ll see two dark brown pups nursing from their mom who is shown laying down here in distant Serbia, where wolves are regularly hunted. Often hunters will claim the life of a mother wolf and the surviving pups are "raised" by hunters who save them for future hunts. This young mother was actually bred in captivity so that she and her babies could be hunted. It’s double the cruelty, but not this time… This time there’s been a miracle. The wolves you see here have been rescued by Dejan, our hero on the ground in Serbia who carefully negotiated their release from the hunters. Dejan is truly a ‘wolf whisperer’ and he lives very, very modestly with every cent he has going to food for the wolves and for the 160 former street dogs who find unconditional love at his shelter. The restaurant that used to provide food for all of the animals suddenly closed down so Dejan wrote to many charities, asking for help, and was turned away by all. He’d been reduced to feeding the animals stale bread and searching through dumpsters and was in a state of despair. But as soon as we at the Harmony Fund were told of his mission for the wolves and for the homeless dogs, we knew we had to help. In consultation with wolf experts, we at the Harmony Fund are planning the creation of a natural sanctuary to release the wolves from their kennels and to allow them to live in packs in a wooded environment. Although they still will need to be fed (as they are now dependent on humans) for the first time these animals will be safe, truly safe. WE NEED DONATIONS FOR FOOD: Today we could really, really use some help with donations for food and veterinary care. It costs about $290 a week for food alone and we’re hoping to raise enough to get through the end of the year. The Harmony Fund is a 501©3 charity with an outstanding record and low overhead, a full 89% of our funds go directly to animal rescue work.
