The Announcement During the month of January, we will be promoting a project that everyone can join. I call it The Wave Movement. The Wave Movement recognizes that a certain aloofness has infiltrated the student body in regards to basic manners. We wish to begin to tear down these sketchy manners and rebuild them. We want to encourage you to brighten other peoples days simply by greeting them, even if you are not interested in asking the person out. So, what does The Wave Movement include? 1. While driving, wave to the people you see coming towards you.* 2. Say hello to those standing close by you at the bus stop, even if they have earbuds. 3. If there are very few people in the area, wave to people walking on the sidewalk on the other side of the road. 4. Talk to the people in the elevator. They cant run away from you. (Be careful about black belts. lol) 5. Do you have any suggestions? *If you have never seen what a polite southern wave looks like, I will describe it to you. You are driving down the road with both hands grasping the steering wheel. You notice a someone (in a car or otherwise) coming from the opposite direction. Assuming both hands are on the wheel, lift one or more fingers (preferably not the middle one exclusively) in a wave. This is usually done with the right hand. When you do this your thumb will be on the inside of the steering wheel and your palm will be on the outside, neither will have lost their grip on the wheel. I like to wave with either two fingers in the victory sign or a full four finger wave. I am Manfred, and I approve this message.
