The Assyrian Church of the East, its Holy Synod, clerics, and faithful have been working tirelessly in the past and present to bring the atrocities evident in the Middle East to the attention of governments, political bodies and alike. It is further encouraging to know that our political parties have joined together as one body and spirit - and recently met to discuss the situation in Mosul. It gladdens our hearts to know our young faithful are working greatly in raising awareness. May the Lord bless and keep them now and always, Amen! We are all members of Christ’s body, and united together as one through the blood of the Only Begotten. Just as each body member has one specific role, we too have a great role. The WORLDWIDE PROTEST that will take place on 2 August 2014 is YOUR time to show the greater community who you are and where you come from - as you well know, the greatest characteristic Australia holds is her multiculturalism. This protest should not only be supported by Assyrians/Chaldeans, but by anyone who understands and reveres human dignity. As humans, we stand strong and raise our voices as one body, and beseech the world to turn her ear to us, and understand our suffering. Please invite ALL YOUR family, friends, colleges, and acquaintances. Now is the time to act. Now is the time to come together and show the wider community who we are - through holy prayer and humble fasting. Psalm 119:86, ‘All Your commandments are faithful; They persecute me wrongfully; Help me!’
