The August winds have arrived. A few of Guss toys on the clothesline were dry in much less than an hour! He got into the forbidden zone this morning, luckily alerting me with much noise. He had something in his mouth and raced down to the back of the yard. It was a blue tongue lizard. I turned the hose on him and he dropped it immediately. I brought the lizard inside bulging and snapping in indignation. I wasnt happy with one of his legs, he was also missing one from an old old injury. In a panic I phoned the WIRES reptile specialist who happened to be coming into town. She inspected him and declared him uninjured, a coupe of loose scales was all. I felt so embarrassed to make the fuss, but happy that dear gentle Gus hadnt done any real damage....phew! I took him next door to Marios and will strengthen the forbidden zones fortifications!
