The Aura, The Chakras, and OBE-Based Communications and Development. What is the whole excitement about a “mind-body-spirit” connection? Is this life all about mind over matter or is the body capable of messaging the whole as well? The body’s language may be different than what the human mind has grown accustomed to currently, and therefore, may provide a garbled or hard to comprehend message? Perhaps it is indeed the receiver that needs attunement? Is the brain a receiver? Does it receive or create knowledge? What about the rest of the body? Is the body alive and intelligent? Weschcke & Slate (2012) have compiled a great and resource filled work regarding the human body and its energetic flows. The human body resonates and intonates and emanates quite significantly it turns out …and this fact, although unpopular perhaps in certain circles, illuminates all who’ll accept it. There is a two-way street of communication going on between the body and the mind and the consciousness and it is one that offers a bit of an exception to conventional understanding. The human anatomy has an energetic signature it turns out! This energetic flow can be thought of, and indeed, measured, by way of the aura. The aura is a life-sustaining and developmental life-force energy that is present in all living things, especially humans. What is and is not alive is a different question perhaps and can be saved for a different discussion. Suffice it to say that the aura of all things can be read and measured whether they are spirit-based, animate, or inanimate “objects.” The aura is generated by the basic energetic truth of a single unit of existence coupled with its consciousness, and in higher complexity organisms, such as humans, the composition of its material self such as the body, its cells, the blood, and also the aligned chakra system as well. The chakra system is quite significant and will receive due treatment herein to follow. Humans can interpret colors and brightness of the auric field’s vibration to demonstrate the condition of the organism or object (Weschcke & Slate, 2012). In Theosophy, there are five categories of aura that are recognized. There are auras of health, vital, karmic, character, and spiritual natures. There are color interpretations as well such as bright red for anger, and bright yellow for advanced intellectual state, and/or purple for the spiritual awareness state. Clairvoyants refer to three basic categories of auric force field. The vital auric field relates to and with the body’s physical health, the mental field reflecting mental activity, and the emotional field as well. The early Christian understanding of the whole body aura included the “aureole” as well as the Nimbus or Halo which was depicted about the head. Subsequently, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn has classified the aura as a sphere of sensation and as an etheric structure. The idea is that all objects of perception, both internal and external, are reflected, and that therefore, they serve as a mirror of the macro/micro integrated universe. The aura is not a living body’s electromagnetic biofield but a field of energetic perceptive reality that is drawn into “view” by empathy (Weschcke & Slate, 2012). By use of the peripheral vision, the brow chakra or third eye, and one’s psychic abilities to integrate them, humans are able to distinguish their own and the energetic consciousness of others. They are also apparently able to project the aura to include groups and locations. History has records of claims that the aura can be extended out hundreds of feet, as was claimed regarding the Buddha, and love and passion may also unfold and unfurl the auric field, temporarily and/or perhaps semi-permanently.
