Dear Fellow Ani-Frackers, Some wonderful things happened the week of the Global Frackdown. The week of October 19th, 2013. Thousands of People all over the US turned out to protest fracking in their states for the second annual Global Frackdown. Here are some great pictures that show that the anti-fracking movement is rapidly growing. For all links that do not work in this e-mail, please copy and paste them into your browser. Thank You. Here is an Op Ed about it, and about what is happening with Fracking in California: thehill/opinion/op-ed/330255-climate-leaders-dont-frack- A huge struggle and a Victory! It can be done! There was also a major conflict on October 18th. For 3 years our Native Brothers and Sisters in New Brunswick Canada between Maine and Nova Scotia have been fighting an injunction by a the US based Southwestern Energy’s (SWN)! This injunction was filed by the Texas based company to end the blockade protecting Mi’kmaq traditional territory from fracking. The regional Moncton tribal Mikmaq people stood up to the Canadian Royal Mounted Police who violently attacked their peaceful protest, in defense of their tribal lands. Just four days later the tribal people won against the fracking injunction! The video below, moved my soul. These people stood their ground, 500 plus years after the arrival of Columbus, on the Continent of North America. Native People of this continent and around the world, are still fighting for sovereignty and rights to control what happens on their own land! If you do not fight for what you believe in...who will? Fracking is encroaching on peoples health all over the world, and we already have the technology for clean energy. The time is NOW! Watch the video and read more in the articles below. Research your best candidates who will protect environmental issues in your area. For Culver City Residents: I am endorsing Christopher Armenta, Democrat for the 54th Assembly. He showed up at the Culver City Global Frackdown and impressed our City Councilwoman and anti Fracking proponent Meghan Sali-Wells: meghansahliwells/ Christopherarmenta For Culver city School Board I am endorsing Claudia Vizcarra, Gary Silbiger, and Vernon Taylor for the three available positions.
