The Australian Government is effectively engaged in a psychological war on its own citizens. It is about generating as much fear and insecurity as possible.. fear of being unwell, fear of losing reliable work, fear of relying on unemployment assistance, fear of continuous government scrutiny, fear of being disabled, fear of having to work beyond an age where we can properly function, fear that in our late 60s we will have to compete against 30 year olds for work,fear of the costs of studying, fear of regions losing supporting infrastructure to cities and mining, fear that when we are working unemployed and disabled people squander our taxes,fears that we can never pursue manufacturing, fears that schools and hospitals will never be adequately funded, fear that any strategy other than austerity will be punished by global capital, fear that we have to treat asylum seekers like animals in order to prevent a border crisis, fear of Islam, fear that we cannot trust and therefore must spy on our neighbours even the smallest and poorest, fear that our govt endorses a global spying network that targets all of us, Fear that morality is a weak-minded luxury that we cant afford...fear that the last of our efficient and profitable public services will be sold off to greedy and inefficient private operators, fear that everything that held us together as a nation other than nostalgia for old wars and sport... amounts to nil.
