The Australian bushfire season is just around the corner. This time last year, in the Blue Mountains 200 households were going about their lives as usual. Just like I had the morning of Jan 18th 2003. If you want an insight into how that turned out for me/us personally, watch the clip below... Im really feeling called to go down to the Blue Mountains for the 17th October, the first anniversary of last years fires. I want to show heartfelt solidarity with the community there, to distribute blankets from the Suddenly Homeless#blanketthemwithloveproject and to meet some of the beautiful girl guides that have been knitting squares to donate back to the project (many of whom lost everything themselves). But, I have to admit that I just do not have the funds to get the blankets or me there right now. I dont even have the funds to set the project up properly and officially/legally undertake fundraising etc. ARGH! I DO have a donate button on the fb page to accept donations however, I have never advertised it. Asking for help is not one of my strengths :-( So this is me raw & real, asking for help... If anyone out there is willing or able to contribute towards this project, in particular $ towards getting the blankets to the Blue Mountains community in time for the first anniversary of the devastating 2013 bush fires...I would be ever so grateful.
