The BBCs editorial policy has been questionable throughout this - TopicsExpress

The BBCs editorial policy has been questionable throughout this referendum campaign. Yesterday morning first minister Alex Salmond held a press briefing with the assembled international press. He took a question from BBC political editor Nick Robinson. Alex answered the question extremely well. Not only that, he also pointed out how the BBCs source at the treasury had broken the law in the serious matter of leaking market sensitive information. This resulted in RBS losing share value overnight before the UK markets opened at 7am - As Alex said this kind of leaking of sensitive material is a very serious matter & will result in an enquiry into how this could happen. The BBC has a duty to us the license payer to be impartial in all things. This is what their charter has to say on the matter - The independence of the BBC (1) The BBC shall be independent in all matters concerning the content of its output, the times and manner in which this is supplied, and in the management of its affairs. (2) Paragraph (1) is subject to any provision made by or under this Charter or any Framework Agreement or otherwise by law. Heres a link to the full document if you would like to read it downloads.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/assets/files/pdf/about/how_we_govern/charter.pdf Nick Robinson is a self confessed Tory & supporter of the Union, but as a BBC reporter & editor he must remain impartial in all reporting. After watching the BBCs main BBC1 evening 10 o clock news bulletin I was none to happy & felt compelled to produce this video, showing both the morning live broadcast from BBC News 24 and Robinsons edited piece for the evening bulletin. This is far from impartial reporting and is edited in such a way to make it look like Alex Salmond did not answer Nicks question. There was also an extremely dismissive remark regarding the serious matter of a treasury official leaking market sensitive material. If the BBC is not meeting its charter requirements then there is a very strong case for not paying your next TV license fee. Anyway, here is my little video on the matter
