The BDC is looking for interns. Join our team! The Bronx Documentary Center (BDC), a 501(c)3 non-profit gallery and screening room, is currently seeing two (2) qualified fall interns with a mind for social change to assist the directors and programming team with a variety of administrative tasks. Support is needed in planning and installing photo exhibitions; conducting research, and organizing documentary workshops with world-renowned filmmakers and photojournalists. Candidates from ethnic and cultural backgrounds that represent the current landscape of the Bronx are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates would demonstrate the following qualities: - Curious with a love of learning - Highly organized - Excellent writing, editing and research skills - Experience in gallery, museum or clerical settings - Familiarity with InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, and Excel - Systems-thinkers and system-builders welcome - A passion for arts administration, documentary photo and film and/or social change - Knowledge of Spanish a plus - Work toward Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree preferred but not required - A positive, team-oriented attitude The Bronx Documentary Center was founded in 2011 and is located in the heart of the South Bronx. The Center’s mission is to broaden viewership of documentary film and photography and use these mediums as tools for education, community building and social change.
