“The BLM is packing up and leaving, this is a Victory for the Liberty Movement!” Let’s think about this… The BLM, under Harry Reid’s direction drew an arbitrary line, literally in the sand, and stated that the Bundy’s would be forced to pay a fee per head of cattle grazing on the land that the cattle had been grazing on for more than a century. Harry Reid and his eldest son stood to make a large quantity of cash as a direct result of this $5 BILLION dollar project. Then, when the Bundy family refused to comply due to the absurdity of the entire notion, the BLM seizes a large number of cattle, costing the taxpayers $3,000,000. In addition, BLM agents terrorized a family, harassed and assaulted that same family and several protestors who were on the scene, many head of cattle were murdered in this attempted theft, yet many in the Liberty Movement are calling this “a win.” By way of background, the BLM was put into motion by politicians who wish to pad their investment portfolio. This is by no means a win, because the players still want their solar farm, and they still want this land. “Harry Reid and his eldest son, reports indicate, were integral in the support and/or implementation of a $5 billion solar plant being built in the county by a Chinese company.” westernjournalism/shocking-allegations-link-harry-reid-nevada-ranch-standoff/ Given the potential profit for high powered elites involved should give everyone pause regarding what the BLM might be doing once the dust settles. The fact that we even have to wonder what the government will do once we are not there to watch it makes this a loss for “We The People,” but even more so, I am concerned about compensation for the Bundy family’s losses. Who will pay for their lost head of cattle murdered by the BLM thugs? Who will compensate the family for being terrorized and for being assaulted? I have been to this southern NV region, several times over the years, and on one of those trips I learned about the digging of “turtle tunnels on rt 160, (the Pahrump Valley Road section,) in order to stop the turtles from being crushed by cars and trucks using the road. To give an idea of the size of these tunnels, a car could drive under the road using one. $10’s of millions were spent on this project! It is doubtful if anyone will see any news stories about these tunnels, I only know about them because I was there, and I spoke with a guy who had a fruit / snack stand on the side of the highway. He was very talkative about the subject! On a side note: “According to sources, the BLM wants to proceed with the sale of the cattle already gathered during the roundup but is reportedly willing to share the revenue from the sale with Bundy.” 8newsnow/story/25230368/major-development-in-bunkerville-cattle-battle-between-cliven-bundy-and-blm Really, that is good of them to “share” the proceeds from the sale of the cattle with the family who OWNS and RAISED them?!? It would be like an armed robber stealing two of my TV’s breaking one, selling them on Craigslist and offering me a portion of the proceeds… Also, “The 400 cows gathered during the roundup were short of the BLM’s goal of 900 cows that it says have been trespassing on U.S. land without required grazing permits for over 20 years. lasvegas.cbslocal/2014/04/13/nevada-rancher-the-citizens-of-america-got-my-cattle-back/ 120 years before the line in the sand was drawn, 20 years of government stating that the cattle were trespassing…. One would think that the government might be able to use some of the 85% of Nevada land that it currently owns instead of using tax dollars to harm tax payers… Or better yet, sell the rest of Nevada and leave the new land owners in peace. My suggestion is to NOT breathe a sigh of relief. This war is just beginning, and while this particular battle may have died back to something resembling a smoldering fire, it is STILL there. Until people like Harry Reid and his son make restitution, (by working off their debt in the service of the Bundy family,) I do not see a victory. Until the Government agents are no longer in a position to feel entitled to physically assault those people whose taxes pay their salaries, I do not see a victory. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance, and currently, we are needing quite a bit more than that. Sincerely, Steve Scheetz
