The Bachchans pay Rs 53.81 cr, amongst the highest tax payers from Bollywood In March, Hindi film industry icon Amitabh Bachchan was declared the individual highest Advance Tax Payer in Central Charge — Mumbai for financial year 2012-2013. The amount was 25 crore. It was then estimated that for the current accounting year, Mr Bachchan would actually end up paying around 37 cr. The Income Tax department in Mumbai had even met Mr Bachchan to congratulate him for being the highest tax payer in Central.
