The Best of British Army Photography in Afghanistan During Operation Herrick 18 (April - October 2013), the commander of 1st Battalion, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers directs the order of battle from his command post. British forces have been conducting successive iterations of Operation Herrick in Helmand Province since 2006 to enable the Afghan National Security Forces to establish control of southwestern Afghanistan. With that mission successfully completed, British forces will continue to support NATO operations in Afghanistan through the Resolute Support mission in 2015.
