The Big Day What! You couldnt stream the #Apple Event on 9/9/14! Thats a bad bad news dude... But You know what, You dont have to worry about that; I am writing this article just for #You. I am going to comprehend one of the #biggestevent in the history of Apple, and probably THIS industrys, just for You! And if you dont mind can please #share this post, so that other people also get #educated, on this topic. Yea just hit the Share now button, and youll be good to go. Be it an #Android User, an #iOS User or a #WindowsMobile User, almost the tech whole world had eyes on Apples Big event. After having watched the event; Apples tag line: Wish we could say more!, makes a hell of lot more sense, than it used to. Talking about the venue, it was the #FlintCentre in #Cupertino, #California. This was the place where it all began! 30 years ago, The Legendary Steve Jobs, introduced the #Macintosh, which revolutionized the Personal Computer Industry. 16 years ago, the #iMac was introduced at this very stage, yet another revolutionizing product. This place is a part of valuable history period that made Apple what it IS Today! Without much ado, like Tim Cook, Id like to go straight to the #iPhone. He starts off with,Today, we are pleased to announce the Biggest advancement in the History of iPhone. If you are a true Apple fan, a statement like this will definitely send shivers down your Spine. Apple introduced two new phones, like last year: iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. FYI: I would talk about the iPhone in different stages, just like in the keynote, to enhance your understanding about the product. Also there wont be any mention about Apple Watch; because if I do that this article would turn out to be a Book! DESIGN The #design of the iPhone is something that you haven’t seen before. The first thing that you notice is that it is #Big. Its Not a small change but a huge one if youve known an iPhone for more than 2 years. iPhone 6 and 6 plus has a continuous, seamless design. There are no distinct edges. The cover glass curves around the sides to meet the unibody anodized aluminum enclosure. The second thing that you notice is that the iPhone is dramatically thinner. Both the iPhone models are thinner than the previous model. iPhone 6 stands at 6.9 mm while the iPhone 6 plus is just a smudge more and stands at a 7.1 mm thickness. These might be the thinnest smartphones Apple has ever made, but are not the thinnest. Both iPhones sports a newer Retina HD Display, which is much more better than the previous version. As I had written in my Expectations article, the 4.7 inch iPhone has a 1334X750 resolution; while the 5.5 inch iPhones sports a full HD, 1920X1080 display. These displays have the full sRGB wide color gamut; a first of its kind in smartphones. The display is made up of #Sapphire crystal, the second hardest transparent material after diamond. These are the most beautiful displays on iPhone and the best in the industry. Though other phones might sport a higher resolution, but they are nothing like iPhones display! The Retina HD Display gives you higher contrast and darker blacks. The colors are much more brighter and the dual domain pixels offer a wider viewing angle. You might think that, you might not be able to use the iPhone single handedly now; but thats not true, Apple has introduced a new software technology in iOS 8 called : #Reachability; when you Touch the home button twice, the entire screen moves down so that you can reach the corners of the phone with one hand that you couldn’t have done single handedly. A brilliant #innovation! If you think that Apple is late at introducing a bigger phone and that its no point introducing it now; I am afraid to say that my friend, you are wrong. As one of my acquaintance rightly said,”It doesn’t matter who did it first, it matters who did it Better! USER INTERFACE iPhone will be launched, preinstalled with iOS 8. There are tons of new features and makes your iPhone a better device to work on! There is a new landscape mode for the iPhone 6 plus for the home screen. Not only that, but also the built in apps are updated in such a way that they make full use of the bigger screen. Messages, mails, weather, stock all have a better UI, when it comes to 5.5 inch iPhone. Unlike Android, iOS does not ‘Randomly Scale Up the application. Now there are more than 1.3 million apps available for iPhone. All of which can be used out of the box with the the newer phones. At least for one month, at max, will the applications be scaled up to fit the screen size. But after Developers start updating the Applications, that problem would be long gone. PERFORMANCE As expected the iPhone wears a skin of Apples new #A8 processor. It is a massive improvement over Apples A7 processor with about 50X the graphics power and around 25X of the processing performance. As far as the battery performance is concerned the A8 processor is about 50% more power efficient than the A7 processor; what does that mean to you: Better Battery Life. As a personal note i would add that I can comment on the battery life only after I have used the iPhone myself at least for a week. But as per reports, iPhone 6 is up to 50% more energy efficient, so you can have higher sustained performance. Why does this matter? Well, While other #smartphone throttle down their performance level after just 30 minutes of continuous usage, the iPhone doesn’t! It provides the same amount of power that it used to 30 minutes ago, thus A8 is able to sustain performance intensive task, such as playing games at a higher frame rate. The iPhone 6 will be able to to play games in Higher Resolution than the next-generation consoles. Think about that for a minute! Alongside the A8 processor, the iPhone also comes with a #M8 processor; it continuously measure data from the gyroscope, the accelerometer and compass. It also has a built in barometer, to measure air pressure to give the relative elevation. All this data is used by Health app, introduced with iOS 8, Third party apps will be a able to tap into this features. FYI: I have gone tired explaining to people that a iPhone DOES NOT require a processor with more than 2 cores and 1 GB of RAM. The hardware and software are directly controlled by Apple and He knows how to use the available resources efficiently. If You still cant understand this simple fact, then; Please God be With You, during your time of difficulty of NOT understanding #TRIVIAL facts! FEATURES Lets start with iPhone’s LTE support, #AndroidUsers pay attention. iPhone has a faster LTE support than iPhone 5s and also support over 200 #LTE bands all over the world; that is more than any other Smartphone. The Speed what you get is 150 mbps as compared to 100 mbps with iPhone 5s. iPhone 6 also supports the new #VoLTE, which stands for Voice over LTE; this allows the iPhone to take a choice call of a phone, off the 3G network and move it to 4G LTE. What this means for you is that you get more clear voice and simultaneously do you get to hear what the speaker on the other hand speaks. This is a subtle but, a needed improvement. The iPhone now supports the newer 802.11ac WiFi standards that is 3X faster than 802.11n. Also now,for the first time ever with any smartphone, you can make calls over WiFi if the cellular conditions are not good. And the handling between the WiFi Calls and the Cellular Calls is just Seamless, and can be done without interrupting the call. Currently this feature is Accessible by T-Mobile and EE users from US and UK respectively. With time, more carriers will be added to support this innovative feature, which has been Conceived, Designed and Developed by Apple. Moving on to the Camera of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone still sport the popular 8MP #iSight camera with bigger 1.5 micron pixels, for better quality images, and a f/2.2 aperture. Overall these improvements help make the camera a lot better than what it was. Like always Apple has introduced a new technology for the iSight camera; a first for smartphones. That technology is called Focus Pixels, it treads on the path of Phase Detection Autofocus, a technology that was isolated to High-End DSLR’S. But now with this new technology, there is faster autofocus, not only for photos, but also for videos. Alongside Apple has introduced a New generation Tone Mapping and Advanced Noise Reduction to greatly improve the Camera of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Talking about taking videos; Now you can take HD 1080p videos directly from your iPhones at 60FPS, for smooth playing videos. Hey! remember the Awesome Slo-Mo videos you could take with iPhone 5s at 120 FPS; Now you can take Such Slo-Mo videos at an amazing rate of 240 FPS. This is The Best Camera that you’ve ever seen of a smartphone. Oh! did I forget to mention the Panoramic photos, Well now you can take Panoramas as big as 43 MP. That is Huge! Are You a person who loves to take Selfies? If yes this next paragraph is for you… Apple has upgraded its FaceTime HD Camera with a wide f/2.2 aperture, which means that it allows 81% more light than iPhone 5s, which in turn means Better Selfies! ;) Also, now You also have Burst Mode in taking Selfies, taking around 10 photos per second! Another Great feature that has been added is that, you can now take Single Shot HDR photos with you FaceTime Camera and also take HDR videos. Overall the iPhones camera has been improved to an extent you cannot just understand by words! You need to experience it! If you are a person who likes to take photos, I would Recommend the iPhone 6, and not the iPhone 6 Plus. Because the features are same, and you get iPhone 6 at a, Relatively, cheap price than the iPhone 6 Plus. CONCLUSION iPhone is the Best phone Apple has designed and developed till date, and many people will agree that it is one of the Best phones released in the Industry! Both the iPhones are great products and will give a tough completion to the rivals. A Great Product is not just a Collection of Features; its how those Features work together and how the Product makes You Feel’.
