The Biology/Chemistry programs will be holding their first colloquium for this semester on Wednesday, October 8, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the Jaguar auditorium. The topic for the colloquium is Avian Conservation through Enforcement and Rehabilitation. Topic to be discussed are: The role of Forest Department in controlling poaching and for administration and regulation of the Captive Wildlife Program for Parrots already in captivity; The role of Belize Bird Rescue in the rehabilitation and release of confiscated and surrendered parrots; The threats to avian species in Belize and the challenges facing conservation efforts.
