The Black Swan Gallery was bursting at the seams on Sunday for the - TopicsExpress

The Black Swan Gallery was bursting at the seams on Sunday for the last Brush with Poetry for the year. About sixty people rolled up to read, recite, sing, play, listen, clap and cheer. There was a lot of laughter and as always, poems to make us think or sorrow. Thanks to poets and musicians who came from Boorowa, Canberra, Queanbeyan, Tumut, Yass, Young and more. Special thanks to Alan Gould and Geoff Page, invited guests, and semi/regulars Margaret Berry, Leigh Brown, Jim Lamb and his mum, Chris Dorman, Janne D Graham, Hazel Hall, Kate McNamara, John Peel, Robert Verdon, Ted Webber... who have I missed?! And everyone else who performed during the year. Music was provided by Jeff Brown harmonica-ist extraordinaire of Yass, Frank Zappi of Canberra - song and keyboard - and Alan Neale folk singer from Queanbeyan. Cohorts Robyn Sykes and Yvette Gilroy agree it was a great end to the year and by the sound of it everyone feels the same. Couldnt happen without the support of the Black Swan (thanks Yvette), the Binalong community and the poetry communities. Not to mention the musos. Cheers all. Back in March 2015.
