The Blue Moon Café, located in the Sydney Building, was one of the few places in the city you could go for a meal in the 1950s Canberra. At the time this footage was filmed, Emmanuel Gerakiteys ran the café in partnership with Greek brothers Spyros and Peter Cassidy . The Cassidys and the Gerakiteys were just two of the many Greek families who immigrated to Canberra from the 1930s onwards and contributed to local public life.
